It started as a “normal” morning other than we were aware the feelings weren’t as normal. Reality had sunk it. We were headed home. With that in mind, we tried to squeeze in as much Nicaragua as we could. We ate breakfast together. We had our morning devo time together. We packed up together. And then we said our “see you laters” together. We had a later flight than we typical do, so we got to go on a fun…
We woke up this morning to the realization that it was going to be our last full day in Nicaragua. That is always a sobering thought for us. Like most mission experiences, you are torn between the desire to stay and continue serving in a place you love but also feel the tug to return home to a sense of ‘normal’. Day 10. That’s hard to process. Probably more on the “I can’t believe it will be over soon” rather than the “wow, we’ve been here 10 days” end of things. We are so fortunate to have been launched out by Wildwood Church to serve here in Nicaragua. We definitely don’t take it for granted – especially considering the challenges this country has been facing. But we love the people here. We love those we are serving with. And we love…
Today was our first full day of construction after all of the camp days that we have had. It was definitely quieter as we pulled in to Ruby Ranch this morning. No kids running around. No music. No bicycles or water slide going. Just the projects ahead of us for the day. We got right to them knowing another team is bringing a group of kids to the Ranch tomorrow for a fun day. So we wanted the waterslide project…
