Recovery… again

Recovery… again

20141229_081018Recovery is a word we never want to take for granted.  And even though today’s procedure paled in comparison to previous ones, having your child have get wheeled away from your arms (even if he gets to go by the awesome bubble wall there at Children’s Hospital) is a tough process and one we haven’t gotten used to.

But praise God, Cole is now in recovery (complete with popsicle) and doing well.  Dr. Killian gave us good news that the injection was successful, although we may not see the effects for a little while.  After putting in the dye, he was also encouraged to see a round bone growing back with no deformities.  However, the femoral head is growing back much larger than his other hip and that will have to be a “wait and see” over the next few years as the disease runs its course.

Cole will be back in his leg immobilizer for the next little while and possibly need to use his walker to get around again.  Hopefully, we will be able to manage the pain from today’s procedure, but knowing Cole, he won’t show it or even tell us.  He’s our tough little guy for sure.

Our God is good.  He is worthy of praise, not just when a procedure goes well, but every day and in all circumstances!  You are my God, and I will praise you! You are my God, and I will exalt you! Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever. (Psalm 118:28-29)

Thanks again, for standing with us in prayer and support!
